Most platforms measure your emissions.
We help you monetize them.
If you’re in MLS, chances are your club is plugged into Greener Goals at the league or club level, with scope 1, 2 and 3 covered and a measurement partner already in place. NWSL clubs are earlier in that journey but heading the same way. If you’ve already got something in place, fine, keep it. That’s a respectable starting point, and exactly where most platforms stop.
50X Labs is purpose-built for soccer clubs and stadiums, and integrates directly with MLS Greener Goals and the UNFCCC Sport for Climate Action framework so league reporting flows in and out without re-keying. The numbers are accurate without consulting hours. The data is verified by humans. And the output isn’t a PDF: it’s sponsor-ready attribution, fan-ready stories and board-ready compliance, all from the same Digital Twin.
Sustainability that pays
From scope 3 spreadsheets to sponsor-ready stories, without re-entering a single data point.
The market reality
Already have a sustainability platform? That's fine. Keep it (if you really want to).
Many MLS clubs work with a generalist measurement vendor: the kind that runs scope 1, 2 and 3 across hospitals, retailers, manufacturers and, in your case, sports. NWSL clubs are earlier in that conversation. Either way, the relationship is usually a dashboard, a quarterly report, and that’s about it.
It works on paper. The league is happy you have a partner. The ESG team has a number to put in front of the board.
The catch is that those platforms aren’t built for a soccer club. They’re built for everyone.
That means generic emission factors that don’t know the difference between a 34-match league season and a single corporate event, scope 3 categories that don’t map cleanly to academy travel, away fixtures, friendlies and fan travel, and a dataset that’s only as good as what your operations team had time to type in last quarter. So you get one of two outcomes. Either numbers that aren’t accurate enough to defend in front of a sponsor or auditor, or accurate numbers that arrived through a parallel consulting engagement billed by the hour.
And nothing in that flow is set up to earn money back. No sponsor attribution. No verified storytelling. No grant matching. No fan-facing narrative the marketing team can actually use. The dashboard is a cost centre.
That’s the gap 50X Labs is built to fill. Purpose-built for soccer clubs and stadiums. Verified, not consultancy-padded. Designed end-to-end to turn your sustainability work into a revenue line.
What we learned from our innovation partners
Six things world-class venues, events & clubs taught us, that we built into the platform.
Our innovation partners are a handful of professional sports clubs in North America and Europe, plus a few major event organisers. They work through the real version of this with us. The principles below are the patterns that keep coming up, baked into how 50X is built.
- 01
Measurement is the floor, not the ceiling.
Top European football clubs and ISO-20121 venues told us the same thing: a carbon report by itself doesn't move the needle. The number in the dashboard isn't worth $1 until it shows up on a sponsor brief, a fan campaign, or a board paper.
- 02
Sponsors fund what they can claim credit for.
When sustainability reductions are verifiably attributable to a specific sponsor, not just claimed in a glossy report, renewal conversations get materially easier. We engineered the platform around that exact mechanic so attribution is built in, not bolted on.
- 03
One stadium is never just one stadium.
Practice facility. Front office. Player travel. Fan travel. Concession suppliers. League games. We learned to model a club as a Digital Twin so every site, season, and stakeholder rolls up correctly, with no double counting and no orphaned data.
- 04
Self-reported data doesn't survive an audit.
Every number on our platform is verified by a human reviewer who calls you to confirm anomalies. Our partners now walk into league reviews knowing nothing will be challenged.
- 05
Fans pay attention when you make it personal.
Generic 'we went green' messaging doesn't move ticket sales or merch. Verified, club-specific impact stories (what your team did, this season, with this sponsor) are the ones fans actually share, repost and credit you for. Generic numbers get scrolled past.
- 06
Compliance is table stakes. Revenue is the prize.
League ESG mandates, SEC climate disclosures, California SB-253: all coming. But the soccer clubs who win this decade are the ones who turn that work into commercial upside, not the ones who just survive the audit.
Where they stop. Where we continue.
The honest, side-by-side picture.
Six things that decide whether sustainability is a cost centre or a revenue line for your team.
Generalist measurement platforms
50X Labs
Generic scope 1, 2 & 3 model, built for a portfolio of industries, not for a soccer club.
Sport-purpose-built model: pitch and stadium HVAC, floodlight lighting, team travel, away fixtures, academy operations, fan travel, concessions. Accurate without a 6-month consulting engagement.
Numbers that need consultancy hours to be defensible. The platform is the cheap part. The cleanup is where the bill grows.
Verified by our team. Every figure checked, every anomaly called back. No retainer, no “data quality project,” no surprise consulting invoices.
Self-reported inputs from your operations team and your hauler. The platform takes them at face value.
Human-in-the-loop verification with anomaly callbacks and audit-ready confidence levels on every figure that goes into a report.
Output is a quarterly carbon dashboard and an ESG-report PDF.
Output is sponsor-ready, fan-ready, board-ready stories, plus a public Trust & Certification page that earns sponsorship dollars on its own.
Stops at compliance. Measurement is the deliverable.
Continues into commercial: every reduction is attributable to the sponsor, supplier or program that delivered it, so you can sell it back to them.
One static org structure. Every new season, new fixture or new sponsor means re-entering the data.
A live Digital Twin of your whole club (stadium, training ground, academy, front office, travel) that auto-populates each season, with zero rework.
We’re not asking you to rip out what you already pay for. Their numbers come in as one input among many. We’re the layer that makes them defensible, sport-specific and commercial.
The $15K question
“Why should we spend another $15K a year on top of what we already pay?”
Fair question. Honest answer: your current platform protects you on compliance. 50X Labs is built to make sustainability earn money back, and to remove the consulting bill that turns “cheap” SaaS into a six-figure line item.
The ranges below are conservative, modelled estimates for a typical MLS or NWSL club: built from public MLS Greener Goals reporting, UEFA’s sustainability strategy benchmarks, Deloitte’s annual football finance review, and the venue-level data we work with day to day. We’d rather underclaim than overpromise. We’ll happily run the numbers on your actual roster, supplier list and reporting calendar in a 30-minute walkthrough.
Run your own numbers1 new sustainability-linked sponsor / season
$250K to $2M
Verified attribution is what sponsors actually buy. One renewal pays back the platform many times over.
Team hours saved on data collection & reporting
150 to 400 hrs / yr
Your sustainability lead, ops team and finance stop chasing spreadsheets. That's a meaningful slice of a full-time hire's worth of capacity, recovered.
League / federal sustainability grants surfaced
$50K to $500K
We map your activity against open league, federal and state programs. Most teams leave 5-figure rebates on the table every year.
Bottom line
A single sustainability-linked sponsor renewal, at any meaningful tier, pays for the platform many times over. Everything else is upside.
In practice
What rolling 50X out alongside your existing platform looks like.
Five steps. No rip-and-replace. Most clubs are sponsor-ready inside one season.
- 01
Set up your Digital Twin (week 1).
We model your club once: stadium, training ground, academy, offices, travel, suppliers. Every season, every fixture auto-populates from the same structure. No re-entering data, ever.
- 02
Plug in what you already have (weeks 1 to 2).
Direct integration with MLS Greener Goals and the UNFCCC Sport for Climate Action framework keeps the league happy and your reporting in lockstep. Hauler, utility, travel, ticketing and supplier data flows in via API, image-to-text or voice memo. Your existing measurement provider's numbers come in as one of many inputs. We don't ask you to rip anything out.
- 03
Verify, don't trust (continuous).
Our team checks every figure, flags anomalies, and calls you to confirm. League auditors and sponsors get numbers nobody can challenge.
- 04
Tag every reduction to a sponsor or program.
Solar install, kit supplier swap, fan-travel offset, low-carbon concession menu: each tied to the partner who paid for it, with verified before/after numbers ready to license back to them.
- 05
Activate stories: sponsor, fan, board, league.
From the same dataset: a sponsor pitch deck, a Trust & Certification page on your site, a board-ready ESG narrative, and a league compliance report, generated in minutes, not months.
